On the plane

And we're off! We are flying to Uganda! We are both really excited for this new adventure. It's crazy to even wrap my head around the idea of flying to Europe, or even flying out of the country alone. Coming here has been in the works for quite some time and it's crazy how quickly the time has past.

First world cleanse. Okay so here's the idea. I've become steadily more and more aware of how fortunate we really are. Cars, food, air conditioning, health, family, you name it. Not only are we so graciously supplied with these things, but all too often we sit and COMPLAIN about them (even the movie selection on the plane... ahem, Austin).

We are stoked for the chance to spend some time in a new place where people drive on the other side of the road, where calories aren't counted, and where people will actually wave hi back to you if you wave to them.

I love that I get to spend some time with Austin working and learning new things each day. I am really proud of him for all the preparation he has done to get us here, and I know that we've got nothing to lose while being on this new adventure. As Austin once said (on trek, yes... this is where I fell in love), that stepping out of our normal lives and living outside of your comforts means getting a new perspective. I couldn't agree more, and couldn't be in more need. Here's to us mzungus (white people) on our first world cleanse!

This kid was out before we even took off!
